Benelux Scientific is expanding its materials-testing portfolio with Brugger Feinmechanik, a German manufacturer of specialised testing instruments for films, plastics and flexible packaging.
The addition enables us to support customers across the packaging-testing workflow: from consistent sample preparation and controlled heat sealing to mechanical and gas-permeability testing.
Packaging materials are changing

The HSG Heat Sealer creates test seals under controlled temperature, pressure and dwell-time conditions. Laboratories can use it to establish suitable sealing windows and compare the sealing behaviour of different films, foils and coated papers.
Testing seal strength and mechanical properties
The VNG Universal Tensile Tester measures seal strength and other mechanical properties of films and packaging materials. It helps laboratories assess whether seals remain sufficiently strong after changes to a material, structure or production process.
Measuring gas permeability
The GTT Gas Transmission Tester measures the gas permeability of films and packaging materials under controlled conditions. This provides important information about barrier performance and the protection of packaged products.
