From May 25, 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation comes into effect. This law concerns the management and security of personal data of European citizens.

Below, you can find more information on how Benelux Scientific collects, uses, and secures personal data.

1. Introduction

Benelux Scientific respects your privacy and rights in collecting and using your data. We are transparent about the data we collect and why. We protect your data as a valuable asset. We do not sell your data to third parties and will not do so in the future. Below, you can learn what information we collect and how we handle it. This privacy statement explains what personal data we collect directly or indirectly from and about you and how we use it.

2. What Data Do We Collect?

Benelux Scientific may process personal data about you because you use its services and/or because you provide it yourself by filling out a contact form.

Benelux Scientific may process the following (non-special) personal data:

  • Your first and last name

  • Your address details

  • Your phone number

  • Your email address

  • Name and address of the company you work for

  • Your IP address

  • Data regarding the products and services you have purchased

3. Different Ways We Collect Your Data

You can share your personal data with Benelux Scientific in various ways, including but not limited to:

  • Purchasing or renting a product or service through Benelux Scientific

  • Communicating with Benelux Scientific about a product or service, such as inquiries about delivery, installation, or billing

  • Contacting Benelux Scientific employees via email, phone, or written correspondence

  • Subscribing to Benelux Scientific mailings

  • Participating in fairs, events, webinars, training sessions, etc.

Benelux Scientific may receive your personal data if you are a customer of Benelux Scientific, a sister company of Benelux Scientific, or a company acquired by Benelux Scientific. Benelux Scientific may also purchase databases containing personal data, but only from third parties who are also subject to privacy legislation.

4. Why Do We Need Your Data?

Benelux Scientific mainly processes your personal data to contact you by phone and/or in writing (via email or postal mail).

Additionally, Benelux Scientific may use your personal data to fulfill a contract. Other purposes include but are not limited to:

  • Offering the ability to order items via the website and use all its functionalities and services

  • Processing your order and/or informing you about its progress

  • Advising and supporting the use of equipment purchased from us

  • Optimally responding to any complaints

  • Informing you about new products, promotions, or services with your permission

  • Communicating via electronic newsletters with your permission

  • Registering for an event, training, webinar, etc.

5. How Long Are Your Data Stored?

Benelux Scientific stores only minimal (non-special) personal data and does not keep it longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. You can request the deletion of your data at any time.

6. Sharing Data with Others

Benelux Scientific only shares your personal data with third parties (e.g., carriers, subcontractors) if necessary to fulfill your contract or comply with legal obligations.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Sister or parent companies of Benelux Scientific

  • Suppliers of Benelux Scientific

  • Employees of Benelux Scientific

Benelux Scientific employees are required to respect the confidentiality of your data and your privacy.

7. Sending Mailings

Benelux Scientific sends mailings via third-party mailing tools that are also subject to privacy legislation. These mailings are mainly to inform you about new products or services, invite you to events and webinars, or conduct satisfaction surveys.

8. Websites

Benelux Scientific has several websites. These websites log general visitor data such as your computer’s IP address, the request timestamp, and browser data. This information is not further used or shared with third parties.

9. Google Analytics

Benelux Scientific uses Google Analytics, AdWords, and Search Console to analyze website usage and assess the effectiveness of AdWords campaigns in Google search results.

Google reports this usage to Benelux Scientific. Google may disclose this data to third parties if legally required or if these third parties process the data for Google. Benelux Scientific has no control over this but does not allow Google to use the obtained information for other Google services.

Google places cookies on web browsers to display ads based on previous visits to our website. This enables us to make special offers and promote our products and services to those who have shown interest.

10. Your Rights

You can always request, modify, and, if desired, have your personal data deleted. You can contact us at privacy@benelux-scientific.com, and we will remove your data from our files.

If you no longer wish to receive invitations, mailings, or other communications, you can unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of our emails or notify us at privacy@benelux-scientific.com.

11. Storing Your Data

Benelux Scientific may store your personal data in the cloud. This means that your personal data may be processed and stored on various locations via cloud service providers working for Benelux Scientific. Contractual measures have been taken to protect your personal data and impose security requirements on cloud service providers, including the requirement that your data is only processed for the above-mentioned purposes.

12. Security

Benelux Scientific takes the protection of your data seriously and implements appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized changes.
