Material Characterization
In the fascinating world of material characterization, Benelux Scientific distributes measuring and testing equipment for the determination of mechanical and physical properties of materials. We focus on sales and application support in the following application areas:
Mechanical properties
Mechanical properties describe how materials respond to different forces and loads. These properties include tensile strength, compressive strength, elasticity, and toughness, and are crucial for determining a material’s suitability for specific applications. Accurately measuring and analyzing these properties is essential for quality control and material development.
Particle characterization
Physical parameters determine the properties of powders, suspensions, and emulsions during or at the end of processing. Important parameters may include particle size, particle size distribution, and/or long-term stability of emulsions and suspensions (zeta potential).
Viscosity and rheology
Rheology is the science that studies the deformation and flow of materials under applied forces. Viscosity, a core concept in rheology, measures a liquid’s resistance to flow.
Color analysis
- Visual and automatic color measurement for transparent liquids
- Spectrophotometers for reflective measurement of solid substrates, powders, and non-transparent liquids
Permeability testing
Permtech is our partner for permeability testers for water vapor permeability, oxygen, and CO2. A single device can integrate one, two, or three different sensors, making these instruments among the most versatile on the market. Recently, Permtech has also developed a device for measuring hydrogen permeability.
Micro-compounding and downstream equipment for polymers and/or rubbers
High-torque microcompounders and downstream equipment for compounding, mixing, fiber spinning, 3D filament extrusion, film extrusion, UD tapes, injection molding, and more on a small scale.
