Particle Size
The Analysette 22 from Fritsch determines the particle size of powders, suspensions, and emulsions from 0.01 to 3800 microns using laser diffraction. The Analysette 28 also allows shape analysis using powerful image analysis software.
Furthermore, particle size can also be determined via sieve analysis with the Fritsch sieve shakers, suitable for a measurement range of about 20 µm to 125 mm.
Electron microscopy
De Thermo Phenom desktop SEM is equipped with unique “Particle Metric” software for determination of size, shape and number distributions of particles.
Zeta Potential and Particle Size
The Zetaprobe from Colloidal Dynamics enables zeta potential measurement in highly concentrated emulsions and suspensions. Additionally, the Acoustosizer provides information on both zeta potential and particle size.
Disc Centrifugal Sedimentation
This technique uses centrifugal sedimentation in a liquid medium to precisely separate particles by size, with a measurement range of approximately 5 nm to 75 µm. The CPS Disc Centrifuge stands out due to its ultra-high resolution, capable of distinguishing particles with minimal size differences of 2%, which is essential for applications requiring precision.
