In an academic environment, many different operators ranging from students to experienced researchers use the SEM on a daily basis. We found that the Thermo Phenom XL operating system allows users to quickly become familiar with the many functions of the device thanks to its intuitive interface. The cooperation with Benelux Scientific was excellent. During the first months of using the SEM there were some minor issues, but we could always rely on their support.
